Bless Yourself
Now we will try the difficult one, and that is to bless yourself. Forgiving somebody else who was not nice to you, for whatever you think that they did, that is so easy compared to blessing yourself. Many of us deep down don’t feel that we deserve to be blessed.
We feel maybe we did something wrong, or we are not good enough, or we know how bad our thoughts really have been, or we did something to somebody, or it’s been so many years that you have felt bad that you don’t even know how to not feel bad anymore.
That is the situation that most humanity faces. We have begun to believe the illusion. We have forgotten the fundamental truth about ourselves, and we’ve begun to believe that we are not good enough, or that we can’t be well, or that we will never be happy, or a thousand other kinds of negative thoughts.
This is great cause of suffering for people everywhere in the world. It’s a common illness. Then, many times, to make it very complicated, human beings think that these negative energies come from the gods.
Then they feel powerless because it’s what the gods want for them. This is a very, very big illusion. There are no gods that want you unhappy. That would be a very silly god.
There is nothing that cannot be healed. There is no negativity that cannot be transformed. There is no karma that cannot be resolved.
Yes, some of these things may take time. And many of them will not be easy at first. But everything that is the illusion can be resolved when you see it with the truth.
Sometimes, if we can’t see it ourselves, that is where the value of a friend or a teacher can help us see something that we might be blind to at first. It’s as if we may have fallen into the water and somebody throws us a life preserver. And once you get out of the water that would be a good time to learn how to swim.
If we teach people to swim, then if they fall into the water and nobody is around, it would be OK. Of course, I am not really talking about swimming. I am talking about how to be free with the truth, expressing yourself as you. To let your true nature, your true self, come forward.
